Flu Busting Tea Recipe

If you feel as if you are coming down with a cold or flu, make yourself a cup of this delicious tea. Its very simple to make, and very economical as well! You can drink it every day, even if you’re not sick.

Ginger

Ginger contains a compound called gingerol that is believed to be responsible for its healing and medicinal properties. It has been used for centuries to relieve a sore throat and get rid of congestion.

Honey

Honey is naturally antibacterial, and also has antioxidant properties. A study published in the journal Pediatrics found that when compared to a placebo, honey was far superior in suppressing childrens coughing during the night. Make sure to use raw honey as it contains the most nutrients making it more effective at boosting the immune system and fighting off viruses.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon has extremely high anti-oxidant activity. It contains strong anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Cinnamon is also a great source of manganese, fiber, iron, and calcium. As a result, it has been used as an effective home remedy for colds.

Blueberries

Blueberries are potent immune boosters. They contain powerful phytochemicals, such as anthocyanin. They are also high in vitamin C which is beneficial in fighting colds

Lemons

Lemons are high in vitamin C. Vitamin C helps protect the immune system and prevents it from acquiring infections.

Natural Flu Busting Tea Recipe that Works

Ingredients:

1/2 c. blueberries, fresh or frozen
3 thin slices of fresh organic ginger root
3 tablespoons organic lemon juice, fresh squeezed
2 tablespoons raw organic honey
1/2 teaspoon organic ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon organic ground clove

Directions:

  1. Peel ginger root, and bring to a boil with one cup of water. Add blueberries. Simmer for 20 minutes. Strain into a cup. Add boiling water to the mixture.
  2. Add the lemon juice, honey and spices and stir well. Drink several times a day.
