Side Effects Of Putting Make Ups

1. Acne

This is common side effect of makeup that most women would have expereinced. Your skin is as much a part of your body as any other organ. It also needs to breathe and grow. When you cover your skin with makeup, you also end up clogging it. Some types of makeup which are in the form of liquids and creams clog the pores in your skin. This leads to the formation of blackheads, which when not cleaned regularly can form acne. So make sure you clean your makeup thoroughly with a natural cleanser before going to bed.

2. Eye Infections

Eye makeup is used extensively even by women who don’t use heavy makeup. But it’s important to remember that your eyes and the skin around them is the most sensitive area of your face. Layers of eye makeup can be damaging to your eyes as it also slips into your eyes through the corners causing irritation. Too much mascara and eyeliner inhibits the growth of eyelashes and also becomes a breeding ground for bacteria which could lead to irritations and infections.

3. Oily Appearance

A thick oily sheen on your face isn’t the same as having a youthful glow. Oil-based foundations and creamy powders give a slick appearance and cause eyeliner to smudge or your eye shadow to clump up in the crease above your lid. For a smoother, fresher appearance, avoid oil-based makeup, especially if you already have oily skin. Stick to water-based foundations and loose powders.

4. Dryness

In some cases a foundation or powder may dry out your skin and make it look flaky, dull and ashen. These cosmetics may also cause cracks and fine wrinkles in your skin, explains the American Academy of Dermatology, which could cause an infection to develop. Dryness also makes your skin itch. To combat it, apply a moisturizer about five minutes before the foundation or powder. A hydrating foundation or powder will also help.

5. Permanent Dark Circles

The skin around the eyes is more sensitive as compared to the rest of your face and it shows the effect of chemicals sooner too. Experts tend to suggest that fewer cosmetics should be applied around the eyes as it can lead to bags under the eyes and dark circles. Dark circles are not easy to get rid of and often create constant marks under the eyes. This creates an endless cycle because to hide their dark circles, people apply more makeup which in turn leads to the worsening of the condition.
